PHOBIA AND PANIC
Anxiety is natural, normal and necessary, but is yours just too much?
Phobias and panic symptoms are surprisingly common. They are generally caused by an exaggerated survival response to a perceived threat or danger. The excessive panic response in either specific, or apparently random, circumstances may become reinforced over time.
This survival response is learnt, through life experience, and whatever can be learnt can be unlearnt and something new learnt in its place. Luckily, one of the Laws of the Mind is that we will always respond to our most recent learning. (Do you believe in tooth fairies?)
As the survival response is under unconscious control, hypnosis is the ideal tool to speed appropriate new learning. In the altered state of mind of hypnosis, the unconscious mind is more accessible and open to new learning. Hypnosis powerfully accesses that part of the mind where the inappropriate learning is stored so that beneficial changes can be made.
